Thomas Kelly joins the Westminster College football staff as an assistant coach in 2024.
Prior to joining Westminster College, Kelly was the tight ends coach at the University of Minnesota-Duluth for the past two seasons.
In his first season with UMD, Kelly coached Zach Ojile, who earned Honorable Mention All-America status from the Don Hansen Football Committee. Ojile was also a Second Team CCA All-Super Region 4 selection. He also coached Second Team All-NSIC choice Sam Pitz. In 2023, Sam Pitz earned Honorable Mention All-America status from the Don Hansen Football Committee. He also was listed on the D2 Football Elite 100 List.
Before joining the staff in Duluth, he was a Graduate Assistant at NAIA’s University of Jamestown (N.D.) where he coached the running backs and tight ends.
Kelly played collegiately at NCAA Division III Lake Forest College (Ill.) where he started every game at guard in 2018 & 2019 and helped the Foresters to their fourth-highest scoring average in program history. The Wauconda, Illinois native graduated from Lake Forest with a degree in Environmental Studies in 2020 and then earned his Master’s Degree in Business Leadership from Jamestown in 2022.
Alec Ramirez joined the Westminster College Football Staff after two seasons at University of Minnesota Duluth as the cornerbacks coach.
His two years at UMD included a 17-5 record and a Second Team CCA All-Super Region 4 recipient in Dayvia Gbor; who finished with a conference leading seven interceptions. Gbor was also a Cliff Harris Award nominee. UMD’s defense was one of the top in the NSIC and Division 2 during both of Ramirez’ years on staff.
Prior to being on the Bulldogs’ staff, Ramirez was a Graduate Assistant on the Southern Arkansas University staff in 2021 working with both safeties and corners. During his undergrad from 2017-21, he was a Student Assistant at Division I University of Texas at Austin working with the defense.
The Temple, Texas native graduated from The University of Texas in 2021 with a degree in Physical Culture and Sport and minor in History.
Coach Lozano joins the Westminster College Blue Jay football team after spending the last three seasons as the linebackers coach, recruiting coordinator, special team coordinator, and NAIA athletics admissions counselor at Iowa Wesleyan University. Raul is a 2015 graduate of Iowa Wesleyan and got his MAML in Athletic Administration in 2022. He is originally from Sacramento, CA, and has a five-year-old son named Raul Lozano IV. His brother Joseph Lozano will also attend Westminster College as a junior and will major in Psychology.
